I had a lot of fun a few weeks back out at the Golden Gate Bridge doing a video interview about my photography with Marc Silber for his new photography series Marc Silber’s Photo Show. We talk about my style, my equipment and what personally motivates me in photography. Thanks to Marc Silber for having me on his show and to Rocky Barbanica for doing a great job as usually filming and editing while out at Baker Beach at the Golden Gate Bridge. The shot below is one of the shots I got of the Golden Gate Bridge while out shooting with Marc.
I could not agree more about getting the visual in your head. Often we photographers are also gadget junkies and most of the time, this is distracting(but enjoyable). Framing the image so it represents more than a visual, a sense of being present with emotion is always the holy grail.

dAnnY, that was a 22 second shot. Actually the image isn’t so sharp as it could be but I wanted it slightly out of focus to focus more on form and color. I actually waded into the surf to get it and mounted the tripod in the sand and surf.

Incredible. Can you post your shutter time for the image ? That’s an amazingly sharp image contending with the moving water and sand !! Great shot.

Great interview with Thomas Hawk. Your interviews are always interesting and you bring a great prospective as a photographer and artist. It is refreshing to see an interview done so well and bringing out the the personality of the person being interviewed and letting the subject be the “star”.
