DJI, the largest consumer drone manufacturer has unveiled the Phantom 3, the newest consumer drone. The Phantom 3 will be equipped with a better camera and flight controls than other models. The drone will include DJI’s Lightbridge technology which will allow the operator to see what the drone sees when in flight. A three-axis gimbal will hold the camera and provide smooth video, despite wind turbulence.
Apart from the drone itself, DJI’s mobile app will also receive some upgrades. The new update will come a flight simulator, and a new director feature that will automatically edit aerial footage. The new app update will also let you stream live video on YouTube.
DJI hopes to draw in both professional aerial photographers as well as those looking to learn by offering 2 variations: professional and advanced for the two types of consumer groups. They will be pricing their models at $1,259 and $999 respectively.
