Imagine

Watch Imagine

Thanks for watching our short film Imagine

Here’s what we cover in the short film Imagine.

  1. No matter how old you are, you will never lose your ability to imagine, you just need to use it! Just get out there and put your creativity to use every single day:  Shoot with your iPhone, draw in your notebook, cook a great meal. Whatever art form you love, use your imagination.  Hint: Remember living life can be an art too.
  2. Visualize your art, before you take a photograph, draw, sculpt or whatever.
  3. Track your creative sparks with a notebook. In our digital age, many people forget notebooks, but don’t neglect to use them!  Michelangelo, DaVinci, all kept note books. Similarly, so should you to track creative sparks!
  4. Find inspiration in others’ works.  Go to that exhibit, concert or dive into books!   Soak in the works of others.  For example in photography, study the works of the master artists to see how they captured light.  I know creatives who never let a week go by without going to the museum. But there are many other ways to get inspiration!
  5. Push yourself to use your imagination.  Ignore the naysayers — which can come from almost anywhere, even your own head!  Especially watch for a “friend” whose last creative skill was clicking a channel changer, but sure can dish out “constructive” criticism (what an oxymoron. Professionals write notes about suggested changes, these can then be taken as advice or not by the artist, who must always keep her or her own counsel– remember it’s your art and your fully responsible for it.)
  6. Your ability to imagine is free — use it and free yourself. Who doesn’t feel better when they have created in any art form?  Don’t hold back!

We have a question for you

Would  you be interested in a course covering the points and more, to help you spark your imagination?  The lesson plan will take you through videos and text and guide you to put what your learn into immediate use.  If you’d like to take this course, send us an email and we’ll get right back to you with the details.

And don’t forget to look through the huge video library we’ve created on YouTube.

I wish you all the best in recapturing or expanding your imagination.

Lastly, here’s a post I wrote covering the above points in more detail.
